May 2024 and Kimbrel Has lost his closer job. I was just glad to see him hit 425 saves, 53 wins and 1217 strikeouts. Who knows where his future is heading??? I do know he has all the accolades and stats to be in the HOF. If he was to hit 1300 strikeouts, then he no doubt would be in. Wishful thinking, but he would be the only reliever with 400 saves and 1300 k 's.

My son plays little league and has an unusual batting stance compared to his peers, which I've tried correcting, but he refuses to budge. He stands upright, feet close, the hands low and then explodes when the ball is pitched. It works for him, great contact hitter. The whole time his stance reminded me of someone, but I couldn't pinpoint who. One day it hit me, "Eric freakin Davis!", so I looked up Eric Davis videos on UA-cam. I was a big fan of Davis when I was a kid. If that swing worked for Davis, it can work for my kid. Just improve it as he gets older.

I wouldn't say Mickey Mantle's catch off Gil Hodges that saved the only perfect game in World Series history for Don Larsen would be in the Hang A Star section, but it should rank up there somewhere.

Long as "not a big game, it's an insignificant game" Roberts is the manager. How many hits in the last 6 games??? And Roberts says he "is happy how they are playing". How many people are financed in them winning? Over 103 games? And they are going to lose their money? When a guy is 1/31 he should be gone, don't care how many years he has played. I was at game 5. Everyone there wanted Harvey to come back out in the ninth and when he did the place went absolutely bonkers. Had he done it he would’ve been a God. Years later, I’m OK with the way that turned out because in that moment he was our best and you have to either win or lose with your best if you want to be a champion.
